Vahan Vartanian

Vahan Vartanian passed peacefully on March 4 2015 after a brief
illness surrounded by his loving family at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Born in
Pawtucket RI on February 17 1931, son of the late Asadoor and Mary Severian
Vartanian. Vahan retired from the USCG after 21 years of military service. He
was a loving husband and best friend to his wife Barbara and a loving father and
brother to his family. Vahan loved his sports, especially the Boston Bruins, New
England Patriots and the Boston and Pawtucket Red Sox. He loved attending The RI
Air Shows and Foxwoods Casino. He met and enjoyed many friends while walking the
Emerald Square Mall. Most of all Vahan loved spending time with his family, he
so enjoyed time with his grandchildren. Vahan leaves his loving wife of 32 years
Barbara Gannon Vartanian, his beloved children Karen Lippitt and husband Bob,
Stephen Vartanian and fiancé Pat, Diane Brown and husband Jim, grandchildren
Victoria Creech and husband Trey, Brenton and Robert Lippitt, Steven Vartanian,
and Molly and Benny Brown, Sister Rose Wroe, brother Vartan Vartanian and wife
Euphemia, twin brother Michael Vartanian and wife Madeline, brother in law Tommy
Gannon and wife Gail, sisters in law Theresa Gannon and Helen Aprile and several
nieces and nephews. A showing will be at The Manning-Heffern Funeral Home in
Pawtucket on Sunday March 8 from 1pm-3pm. The Funeral will be at Saint Sahag
Armenian Apostolic Church in Providence on Monday March 9 at 11am, followed by
burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be
