Thomas William Markarian

Thomas W. Markarian, 73, of East Shore Road, Jamestown passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017 at home with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Johnson) Markarian. They were married for fifty two years.

Thomas was born in Providence, the son of the late Markar and Margaret (Moore) Markarian.

In 1972 he purchased the old Industrial National Bank on Main Street in Wakefield. Mr. Markarian then proceeded to make it into one of the most respected accounting firms in Rhode Island.

Thomas was an avid golfer. He was responsible for saving the Valley Country Club from bankruptcy by organizing a group of members who were able to turn the club into a debt free successful club.

Besides his wife Lois, he is survived by his children; LeAnne Markarian of Jamestown, Marc Markarian and his wife Jessica of Coventry, Kara Chatowsky and her husband Anthony of North Kingstown and Thomas Markarian Jr. of Jamestown. He is also survived by his sister Mary Dorothy Petrucci of Providence, his grandchildren, Taylor Chatowsky, Tara Chatowsky and Marc Paul Markarian. He was the brother of the late David Markarian.

Changes to the funeral service and burial have been made and both will be private and held at a later date.
