Dear Terry,
I am so sorry that you lost your mother. We think that our mom's will be here forever ...and they are, just no longer in the flesh. I hope that you and Sharon are well.

I am sure your family has many fond memories spent with Mrs.Laffey.It is never easy though to lose our loved ones. Please be comforted by Revelation 21:3,4 at this sad time.

To the Burgess family, and especially Ruth's grandchildren....
We were lucky to spend time growing up with Aunt Ruth and Uncle Tom, whether on Enfield St., Newport, or Rye Beach. Those days of fried clams (Terry's lobsters and onion rings!) and too much sunburn and clipping clothespins on all our parents as they went out to dinner and we would sing "Hey Lotttie " are etched in our memories forever. We will miss her. But how lucky WE were to have her as our "Aunt Ruthie". All the Coakleys send our condolences.

My fond memories of Aunt Ruth include the twinkle in her eye and her sweet upbeat presence full of laughter. She was such a kick. As cousin Gerry Feely said, those cookouts on Enfield Street are treasured times. And the large family adventures at Newport Second Beach and the Burgesses singing "Danny Boy." We were all so blessed to have so many loving and joyous relatives. Aunt Ruth was the youngest and the last of that generation. Aunt Ruth and all the others in that Laffey generation will be in our hearts forever. Sorry not to attend today. Cousin Ann Sieber just emailed me about this and I am in Santa Monica. Yes, Gerry, a family re-union would be just wonderful and I'd do whatever I can to get to the East Coast.

Dear Billy, John, Tommy, Terry, and Eddie,
We are so sorry to learn of your loss of Aunt Ruth. We just heard today.
We echo Gerry Feeley.....we have all had the gifts of the Laffey generation and will miss Aunt Ruth as we miss all the Laffeys and their spouses -- humor, joy, love of life, and dedication to family.
Love Gerry's idea of a get together this summer to reminisce and connect.
With love and sympathy,
Ree, Jane, Martha, and Mary

Dear Bill, John, Tom, Terry and Eddie,

So sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. She was a great person. I will always remember the rides to Newport beach on a Sunday. She and my mother would talk non stop and be laughing all the way. A great generation has ended with your mother's passing. Sorry I cannot be there in person for her funeral. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with her. She has now joined the Laffey family in heaven for a great get together. God Bless.

Bill, Sorry to hear about the death of your mother. When my parents passed I noted a change in my relationship to the world; and after room reflection realized that their deaths were their last great gift to me. I wish you peace.

Bill, John, Tom, Terry and Eddie;

Our deepest sympathy to all on the passing of Aunt Ruth. She had a long life and the loving support of five fine sons and their families. I have fond memories of the cookouts on Enfield Street and summertime fun at Hampton Beach. Aunt Ruth was a great conversationalist and always had a funny story or joke to tell. She will be sadly missed and long remembered. We were all blessed by that wonderful Irish Laffey generation. Maybe this summer would be a good time for our generation to gather, reminisce and pay tribute to them all.

Regrettably we will be unable to extend our sympathy in person as we returned from Rhode Island to Florida within the past few days. We purchased a home in Naples, FL about five years ago and live here full-time now.

Sincere condolences to all,

Marcia and Gerry Feeley
