Florence A. “Dixie” Vollett, 95, of School Street, Pawtucket, died February 4, 2016. She was born in Worcester, MA a daughter to the late Thomas F. and Mary (McMahon) O’Brien. Florence was the longtime companion of the late Joseph Clifford Sr. She worked for many years at the former Industrial National Bank.
Dixie was the Assistant Director and soloist for the Valley Singers in Cumberland.
She was the second runner-up in the Senior Beauty Pageant in Pawtucket 1994-1995. She did win the Miss Congeniality award in the pageant.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Levasseur of Pawtucket. Florence also leaves her four grandchildren, Christopher Idone, Patricia Soares, April Aqualante, and Sean Bernier. She also leaves many great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Mrs. Vollett will be Monday, February 8th at 9:00 am from the MANNING HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 AM. The calling hours for Dixie will be Sunday from 2-5 pm in the funeral home.
