Simply an exceptional woman!! Part of America's "greatest generation". My father and mother, who were their neighbors in Portsmouth, adored Claire, Joe and Martha. We all grew up and moved away in the 90's but I'm so happy to see she lived a full and complete life and is now in God's hands.

Please accept our sincerest condolences for your heartbreaking loss.

Deepest sympathy on the passing of dear Claire. We were great friends in college and I will always remember her voice and gentle laugh and kindness in every way. She was courageous in life, a true inspiration.

Dear Canning Family: I am so sorry to learn about your mom and too late to extend my condolences in person. I share happy memories of your mother at Elmhurst, at our moms "luncheon group" which took your mother all the way to Woonsocket on occasion, and a ski trip to NH with Leslie Rao and Paula. Your mom was a lovely lady who was clearly blessed with a special family and shared her kindness with many. Thinking of you all. Warmly, Nancy Rogers

Your mom was such a terrific neighbor to us in Portsmouth. She truly exemplified courage and determination and our parents loved spending time with the entire Canning family.
She is now with Martha, Joe Jr, and Joe.
Blessings

Lauri, Paula, and Peter,
Sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Great lady with a big heart, who lived a full life. Was always fond of both your mom and dad. I may be unable to make the service due to work and travel. Thoughts are with you all. Fondly,
Steve
