Sr. Mary Francine Davin died suddenly and unexpectedly and entered into eternal life on December 11, 2020 at her home in Marlborough, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Angela and Thomas Davin.
Sister Mary entered Carmel on January 19, 1975 and was professed January 22, 1978.
Sr.Mary attained a Masters degree from Harvard University and also was a teacher of religion and literature. She had a passion for music. She played the dulcimer, piano, auto harp and recorder. The Carmelites in Barrington counted on her music and voice for daily masses and liturgies.
Sister will be remembered for the love of her Irish heritage, her sweet smile, her kindness and generosity of spirit and for her ability to enjoy even the small things in life, and for her wonderful laugh that could light up a room.
Besides her sisters of the Carmelites, Sr Mary is survived by two brothers (Thomas and Raymond) and her sister, Martha,and several niece, nephews and friends.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Sr. Mary on Tuesday, December 15th at 11:00 am in the Carmelite Monastery Chapel, 25 Watson Avenue, Barrington, Rhode Island. Please use proper Covid 19 procedures. This includes a mask for all those planning to attend.
