Paul J. Morgan, Jr. age 71, of Worcester, MA went to be with the Lord, with his loving wife, Kathi (Carlson) Morgan by his side, on March 18, 2020 after a brave battle with cancer.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Paul Morgan and Doris (Sweet) Morgan.
Paul, known to those who loved him as Chip, embraced each day with joy and optimism. He enjoyed making others laugh and was happiest when he was with his family, sitting in the sun or watching the Boston Red Sox on television. Chip loved working with his hands and spent most of his life employed as a carpenter, figuring out projects and admiring his finished handiwork. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch with Kathi with a cup of coffee, talking and greeting neighbors who always gravitated to their house to share in Chip’s joyful spirit. A fisherman at heart, he spent many years fishing and hunting with his late brother and best friend, David, with whom he sat beside during his own battle with cancer.
Chip leaves behind his beloved wife Kathi, who was the love of his life who he treated like a queen each and every day. He also leaves his children whom he dearly loved: daughter, Christine Durham, wife of Steven of West Boylston, son, Derek Morgan of Falmouth and his 3 granddaughters, Julia, Hannah and Grace Morgan of Harwich. He leaves his special mother in law, Clarice Carlson, who he thought of and loved as his own mother. Chip was embraced by Kathi’s family and he was loved by her sisters, Susan Wynne and her husband Ted, Holly Guerin and her husband Rob, Maryellen Kullgren and her husband Peter and brother, Kenny Carlson and his wife Pam. He will be especially missed by his “favorite sister in law,” Kristi Vargas and her daughter, Jane, “my Janey.” He also leaves many nieces and nephews who he adored.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
