Patricia Ann Perry of Pawtucket passed peacefully on June 30th at home surrounded by her loving children after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Warren Rhode Island, the daughter of the late Omer DesChamps and Helene (Simmons) DesChamps.
Patricia was a graduate of the Mansfield high school class of 1959 and later completed her education earning a B.S. of sociology and social work from Bridgewater State University in 1979. Patricia worked for the Mansfield police department as a dispatcher and was instrumental in the development of the New Hope Women’s Hotline to assist women in crisis. Rounding out her career she retired from Shaws Supermarkets in 2011 after 18 years of service.
She is survived by her children Shane Ward of Pawtucket, Michelle Walsh and her husband David of Foxborough Massachusetts, Edward Ward and his wife Michelle of Billerica Massachusetts, Christine Ward of Pawtucket and Christopher P. Ward of Pawtucket. Patricia had seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Patricia’s family has requested a private funeral and burial.
