Nina B. Murtha, 82, of Pawtucket, passed into eternal life on August 23, 2020. She was the former wife of David Murtha. Nina was born in Providence, a daughter to the late Edward and Alice (O’Donnell) Corrigan. She worked as a Senior Clerk Typist for the State of Rhode Island for 30 years before her retirement.
Nina was a spiritual woman and attended church faithfully every Sunday. Nina enjoyed going to dinner with her friends, watching jeopardy, and pampering her dogs. Nina will mostly be remembered for her quick wit and her kindness towards others.
Besides her former husband, she is survived by her children Bruce Murtha and his wife Virginia Giblin, of San Francisco, CA, David Murtha of Pawtucket, Steven Murtha of Florida, Nina DeRoche of Newport, Edward Murtha of Colorado and Brian Murtha and his wife Michelle, of Rhode Island. She also leaves four grandchildren, Drew, Brianna, Renee and Danielle and two great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Edward Corrigan.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Nina on Friday, August 28th at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Church of the Immaculate Conception, 103 Pine Street, Pawtucket. Visitation will be Thursday, August 27th from 4 – 7 pm at the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. Her burial will be private.
