Lucienne Marie (Lucy) Gaudreau of Pawtucket, RI, went home to rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 6, 2021. She was 91. Born in Albion, RI, Lucy, one of six children, was the daughter of the late Domina and Clarinda (Lusignan) Pelletier. Lucy married Marcel Gaudreau in 1957, and together they raised four children in a loving home on Norfolk Avenue.
She was predeceased by her husband Marcel and two sons, Robert and Michael (Kim). She leaves her son, Marc Gaudreau (Shirley) of Bristol, RI, daughter, Christine Blois (Scott) of Cheshire, CT; her; grandchildren Kristen Gaudreau, Michelle Gaudreau, Hannah Gaudreau, Maria Blois and Matthew Blois; great-grandchildren Jaxx Perry, Michael Andella, and several nieces and nephews.
Lucy worked at Hasbro Industries on Newport Avenue in Pawtucket, RI from 1977 until her retirement in 1989 so she could take care of her ailing husband full-time. She was very close with her siblings and parents, gathering most Saturday nights and holidays for home cooked meals and hours of laughter, making lasting memories for her children. She enjoyed traveling with her family and long-time friend Eunice; but it was her solo visit to Jerusalem that was a life-changing experience for her. If you had the good fortune of knowing Lucy, you knew she always loved to talk about her love of Jesus Christ and his eternal salvation. Her faith was strong and absolute and defined who she was. This faith helped her through the loss of her husband and two sons, and also enabled her to handle her illness with bravery, grace and dignity. While we will miss our Mom, Nana/Memere Aunt and friend, she is now in a place of peace, love, and joy. “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” - 2 Timothy 4:7.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Lucy's life will be held on October 23 at 11 AM at the Manning-Heffren Funeral Home, 68 Broadway in Pawtucket, RI.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be sent to the Temple of Restoration, 30 Walcott Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860, a church that, for the last several years of her life, fed Lucy's soul and spirit.
