John F. "Jack" Harrington, 78, of Pawtucket passed into eternal life on March 9, 2021. He was the husband of Jane K. (Houlihan) Harrington for over forty six years.
Jack was born in Newport, the son of the late James R. Harrington Sr, and M. Elizabeth (McDonough) Harrington. He graduated from St. Raphael's Academy in 1960 and graduated from Boston College in 1964. He was a United States Air Force Veteran having been drafted following his graduation from Boston College. After his time in the Air Force Jack was a Master Sergeant for the Air National Guard until his retirement in 2002.
Besides his wife Jane, Jack is survived by his sons; James (Jay) J. Harrington and his wife Kristen of South Kingstown and Patrick A. Harrington of Providence. He also leaves his grandsons, Bowen and Beckett Harrington along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends from his time in the National Guard that will all miss him dearly. Jack was the brother of the late James R. Harrington Jr.
He was also a long time member of the Elks, VFW and American Legion and an avid fan of the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots as well as the local college hockey and football teams. Following his retirement you could usually find him at a hockey, baseball or football game and he enjoyed vacationing in St. Petersburg, FL during the winter.
There will be a Mass of Christian burial for Jack on Saturday, March 13th at 10:00 am in St. Teresa's Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Due to Covid 19 regulations, masks are required. His burial will be with full Military honors in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery. www.manninghefern.com
