Matoian, Irene (Bogosian) 88, of Lincoln passed away peacefully on the morning of March 12th at home. Born in Providence, Irene was the beloved wife of the late Charles S. Matoian and daughter of the late Harry D. Bogosian and Mary (Simourian) Bogosian. Irene will live on through her three children Karen Matoian-Alahverdian (Harry), Charlene Dickie (Bob), and Aaron Matoian (Shauna) as well as her two grandchildren Alexandra Irene and Ariana Viola Dickie, all with whom she loved very dearly. She was also a cherished sister of the late Harry ,Robert, and James Bogosian, leaving behind sister in-laws Eileen, Jackie, and Barbara, respectively. Lastly, Irene will be celebrated by many nieces, nephews, and close family friends, having made great memories with them all.
After graduating from Hope High School (class of 1949), Irene worked as a secretary at Desitin Chemical Company for 10 years. She met the love of her life, Charles, in 1958 and married in June of 1959. The two spent 49 wonderful years together until his passing on their wedding anniversary in June of 2008. Irene was a woman who loved being a homemaker, baking, cooking, quilting, crafting, and going on mystery rides. She also loved to entertain beloved family and friends and could talk with them all night long when given the chance. Irene will forever be remembered for her spunk, love of laughter, ability to bring people together, and overall dedication to enjoying all of the little things life has to offer.
Irene was a member of both the Armenian Evangelical Church and St. Vartanantz Church. Do to concerns concerning COVID-19 services will be private.
