Helen (Sacharko) Gately

Helen Sacharko Gately formerly of Rumford passed away on February 12, 2021. She was the wife of the late Arthur T. Gately, Jr.
Mrs. Gately was born in Providence, June 30, 1930,the daughter of the late Joseph Sacharko and Agatha Sacharko. She graduated from Bryant College in 1950. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother.  She had a passion for cooking and won multiple local and national cooking competitions. She also loved to play golf, travel, read and spend time with her family. She was an avid supporter and fan of her sons and grandchildrens sports and art shows.
Helen is survived by her sons; Arthur T. Gately III of Cumberland and his wife Rosemary and Edward J. Gately of Rehoboth, MA and Scituate, MA and his wife Lynn. She also leaves her five grandchildren; Arthur Gately IV, Shannon Gately, Jill Gately, Katie Gately, and Krissy Gately; three grand-dogs and numerous grand-squirrels. She was the sister of the late Amelia Tomassetti, Chester Sacharko and Walter Sacharko.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Helen on Saturday, February 20th at 10:00 Am in St. Margaret’s Church, Pawtucket Avenue, Rumford. Due to Covid-19 restrictions masks will be required. For online condolences www.manningheffern.com
