Carlos R. De Hoyos of Pawtucket passed into eternal life on March 22, 2021 at 7:03 pm. He was the husband of Dora M. De Hoyos.
Mr. De Hoyos was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He was the son of Primitivo De Hoyos of New York and the late Dolores (Luciano) De Hoyos. As part of an immense family, Carlos left 6 sisters and 3 brothers from his father's side, 3 sisters and 8 brothers from his mother's side, as well as many nephews and nieces. The family is scattered throughout the country, with the majority residing in either Puerto Rico or New York.
He was an employed construction and drop ceiling worker who LOVED nature and being in the water. During his free time, he was always working on his fishing boats and kayaks, either fishing out in the ocean or from the shore. He loved to go on bike rides around the state, fly his drones at state parks, and garden in his backyard.
Besides his wife and father, Carlos is survived by his children; Jasmine Soriano of New Jersey, Jackson Veliz of New Jersey, Carlos R. De Hoyos Jr. of New Jersey, and Keyla Z. De Hoyos of Pawtucket. He left 6 grandchildren: Jacob Cancinos, Jeremiah Cancinos, Alina Veliz, Joshue De Hoyos, Jiannie M. De Hoyos, and Aria S. De Hoyos.
A wake to honor Mr. De Hoyos will be held on Friday March 26th from 4 - 7 pm at the Manning Heffern Funeral Home - 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Relatives and friends are invited. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, masks are required.
There will also be a mass of Catholic Burial for Carlos on Saturday March 27th at 9:30am am in the Holy Spirit Parish Church - 1030 Dexter Street, Central Falls, RI 02863.
