Richard F. Bourque

December 28, 1931 ~ September 8, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Richard F. Bourque of Walcott Street, Pawtucket died on September 8, 2017.

He was the husband of Barbara (Lanca) Bourque. They had been married sixty one years.

Mr. Bourque was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Romeo and Marianne (Laliberte) Bourque.

He was employed at the former Union Wadding Company in Pawtucket for over fifty years. Richard was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea as a staff Sergeant. He earned two Bronze Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, The Presidential Unit Citation, and the National service Medal. Richard was a member of the B.O.E. #14 and the Ireland “32” Society.

Besides his wife Barbara Richard is survived by his three sons, Richard F. Bourque and his wife Karlene of North Dighton, Massachusetts, Gregory A. Bourque and his wife Susan of Plainville, Massachusetts, and Christopher J. Bourque and his wife Jean-Marie of Mansfield, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his daughter Barbra Ann Moore and her husband Lawson M. of Pawtucket. Richard had nine grandchildren; Gregory A., Nicole R., Ryan J. and Rebecca L. all of Plainville, Ashlee L., and Tracie A., of North Dighton, and Adam J. and the late Samantha M. of Mansfield, and Justin M. of Pawtucket.

He was the brother of the late Roger Bourque and Dorothy Giannini.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Bourque on Wednesday, September 20th at 10:00 am in the Holy Family Parish Church, Walcott Street, Pawtucket. 

His burial with full Military honors will be in Notre Dame  Cemetery, Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to S.M.B. Foundation, P.O. Box 222, Mansfield, Massachusetts in memory of Richard’s granddaughter Samantha.
