Lois (Ferrari) Hebner, 83, of Lincoln, Ri and of Woods Hole, MA, passed away at her home in Lincoln on May 26, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Hebner. Lois was born in Pawtucket, RI, the daughter of the late Edward and Harriet (Daniels) Ferrari.
Lois graduated from Bryant College, and worked at the Providence Lying-In Hospital where she befriended her sister-in-law Janice. Through that friendship, Lois met Bob. Though unofficially, Lois assisted her husband with secretarial work for many years as they raised their five children. Once their youngest neared secondary school, Lois returned to working outside the home as secretary for the Lincoln Public Library. She worked there for many years before her retirement. Lois was an accomplished watercolorist, was a member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, and painted for over forty years. Lois was also an avid reader, especially mysteries. By far, she considered raising five children to successful well-educated adults her most important accomplishment. For that, we are eternally grateful and will miss her tremendously.
Lois is survived by her children, David A. Hebner and his wife Sara from St. Louis, MO, Kathy E. Campbell and her husband David from Hopkinton, MA, Karen H. Almeida and her husband Paul from East Greenwich, RI, Carolyn L. Kelly and her husband Justin from Acton, MA, and her thirteen grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Daniel J. Hebner.
The funeral for Lois will be in The Church of the Messiah, 22 Church Street, Woods Hole, MA on Monday, June 3rd at 1:00 PM. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 2nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Manning Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, RI.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society in memory of Lois Hebner.
