James A. McVay of Pawtucket passed into eternal life on April 24, 2018.
He was the husband of Geraldine S. (LaFountaine) McVay for over fifty four years.
Mr. McVay was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late James McVay and Margaret (Ferguson) McVay. He was a truck driver for the Teamsters where he drove for the Gilbane Construction Company for thirty one years. He also served in the National Guard and volunteered as coach and President of the Darlington American Little League for many years.
Besides his wife Geraldine Jim is survived by his children; Allen McVay and his wife Annmarie of Pawtucket, Christopher McVay of Rehoboth, Massachusetts and James McVay of Pawtucket. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Megan, Patrick, Morgan and Mackenzie, his brother Thomas McVay and his sister Patricia O’Hern.
The funeral for Jim will be Saturday at 9:00 am from the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. The calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 in the funeral home.
