Henry O. Coutu of Pawtucket passed into eternal life on April 8, 2019. He was the husband of Maureen B. (Morgan) Coutu. They had been married twenty three years. Mr. Coutu was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Henry Coutu and Claire (Lallier) Coutu.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Catholic University of America and his Masters from the University of Connecticut. Henry was a teacher in the Cumberland School system for many years where he taught both Latin and French. He was then the education coordinator at the Bradley Center in Cranston. Henry served his country proudly in the United States Army.
Besides his wife Maureen, Henry is survived by his children; Stephen Coutu and his wife Laura of Barrington. Elise Lanzi and her husband Greg of Cumberland, Christopher Coutu and his wife Michelle of Juneau, Alaska, Michelle Casavant and her husband Steven of Cumberland and Jessica Quenga and her husband Bryan of Cranston. He is also survived by his brothers Ronald Coutu and his wife Janice, and Gerard Coutu, his sister Elaine Briere and her husband Alfred and fourteen grandchildren; Maxwell, Grace, Ethan, Emma, Sarah, Caroline, Benjamin, Harrison, Jackson, Allison, Madelyn, Melody, Kaydence, and Reed.
There will be a Celebration of life for Henry on Saturday, April 13th at 10:00 am in the Four Corner’s Community Chapel, 200 Angell Road, Cumberland. The calling hours for Henry will be Friday from 4-7 pm in the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited.
