Arthur was a proud veteran of World War II.  He joined the Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees) as a seventeen year old and saw action at D-Day, France and the Philippines.

He was well known throughout the Pawtucket area for his prodigious speed walking around the city, especially at the McCoy Stadium track.

He especially enjoyed volunteering at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket, which he did for over 30 years.

In addition to his wife Anna, he is survived by his three sons, Arthur (Jerry) Frechette and his wife Mary, Richard Frechette and his wife Suzanne and John Frechette and his wife Lisa Martino; five grandchildren, Wendy Frechette, Matthew Frechette, Aimee Hall, Aaron Frechette and Griffin Frechette; four great grandchildren, Danielle Holmes, Cameron Caspoli and Cassandra and Liam Frechette; and one great great grandchild Alexia Arango.  He was the brother of the late Yvette Marion and Jeanne Robert.
