Walter Edward Senecal

November 11, 1937 ~ March 17, 2015 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Walter E. Senecal, Sr., 77, of Pawtucket passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Senecal was the devoted husband of Mary F. (McKenna) Senecal for 56 years. 

Mr. Senecal was born in Central Fall, the son of the late Joseph I. and Lena (Dumas) Senecal.  He was the youngest of seven, brothers Joseph, Norman, Roger and sisters Laura, Delia and Madeline, all of whom are deceased.

After serving his country in the U.S. Army for four years, he was a mechanic and body shop man most of his life. He was the service manager at Magner Motors for twenty years. He was an avid race car fan and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his entire family.

Mr. Senecal is survived by his children, Donna Dussault, Walter Senecal, Jr., John Senecal and his wife Janet, Christopher Senecal, Charlotte Pinault and her husband James and Helen Skalak and her husband Joe.  He also leaves thirteen grandchildren, Steven, Crystal, Sheena, Joshua, Matt, Magen, Christopher, Ethan, Ryan, Vanessa, Jenna, Jocelyn, Tyler, one great grandchild, London and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral for Mr. Senecal will be Saturday at 9:00am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Pine Street, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. The calling hours will be Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Walter’s memory to Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
