formerly of Connecticut and New York died on January 4, 2018 @ Grandview Center, Cumberland, RI after a brief illness. She was predeceased by husbands Frederick William Donner II, who died in 1992 and Frederick Talbot Birch who died in 2005.
Virginia was born August 3, 1934 in Jamaica Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Foster F. Kobin and Mildred W. (Moore) Kobin.
She lived in Freeport, Long Island, New York before moving to Norwalk, Connecticut. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1952 and from the Norwalk Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She worked as a registered nurse for many years.
Mrs. Birch is survived by 3 children; a son Frederick William Donner III and his wife Kathleen in Brooklyn CT, daughters Marie D. Grundy and her husband Kenneth, with whom she lived, and Kathleen A. Clark and her husband Robert of Zephyrhills, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her funeral and burial will be private. For online condolences please visit
