Roy A. Costa Sr. of Pawtucket passed into eternal life on February 22, 2018. He was the husband of Edith Avelino Costa.
Mr. Costa was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Jose and Anna (Torres) Costa.
Roy was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. After the war he was a Deputy Sheriff for the State of Rhode Island and then a Constable for the Federal and Rhode Island Courts for over thirty years.
Besides his wife Edith, Mr. Costa is survived by his sons, Roy A. Costa Jr., of Cumberland and Antonio P. Costa and his wife Robin of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts.
He also leaves his grandchildren, Bethany Spillane and her husband Matt, Roy Costa III, Kyla Costa and Antonio Costa Jr. and his wife Gosia.
The funeral for Mr. Costa will be Monday, February 26th at 9:30 am from the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Anthony’s Church, Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket. His burial will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. The calling hours will be Sunday from 4-6 pm in the funeral home.
