Welcome to the memorial page for

Rose (Alviti) Arrighi

January 17, 1919 ~ December 3, 2017 (age 98) 98 Years Old

Arrighi (Alviti), Rose

98, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2017. She was the wife of the late Aldo Joseph Arrighi, and loving mother of James A. Arrighi, M.D., of Providence.

Rose was born on January 17, 1919, in Providence, to Orlando and Alessandra (Marchioni) Alviti, and grew up in the Silver Lake section of the city.  She had 8 siblings and came from a close knit Italian-American family.  She was predeceased by her sister Josephine Ciancola, and brothers Raymond, John, Edalo, and Vincent Alviti.   She leaves her sister Alessandra (“Valeria”) Delgado and her brothers Peter and Ralph Alviti. She was exceptionally close not just to her siblings, but also to her in-laws, Rena (Arrighi) Rinaldi (and husband Tulio), Ida (Arrighi) Lebeck, and John Arrighi (and wife Kitty).  She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews from both sides of the family.  For many years, she and Al lived adjacent to Rena, Tulio, and their son Paul, who has been like a brother to Jim.

Rose married Aldo Arrighi on January 12, 1943, in Providence, and lived together in Pawtucket for 51 years until Aldo’s passing.  During World War II, Rose began her 20 year career working for Fram Corporation in East Providence.  There, she initially worked in manufacturing filters and other supplies used in the war effort. She worked at Fram until the birth of her son, and later worked in a second career in the costume jewelry industry at Horde Toole and Die in Pawtucket.  She retired and moved to Cranston and then Providence to be closer to her sister.

Rose was full of life, with great sensitivity and compassion. She was a loving, proud mother, and a dedicated wife. She was vibrant well into her 90’s, and her knack for dressing smartly was one that lasted as well!

Her family is very appreciative of the care that she received at St. Elizabeth Court Assisted Living, and more recently, to the wonderful nurses, staff and doctors both at Hope Hospice and Steere House in Providence.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Rose on Tuesday, December 5th at 11:00 am in St. Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Her calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 8:30 until 10:30am prior to the funeral in the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket.
