Rafael M. Saldua, 98, of Pawtucket died on October 14, 2016. He was the husband of the late Josefina R. Rebadajo-Saldua.
Mr. Saldua was a welder for Procter & Gamble, Manila, Philippines, for many years. He was awarded the TOWER AWARD (Ten Outstanding Workers Of The Republic) in 1976 for the best welder. He came to the U.S. in 1981 and worked as a welder at Libson's Machinery at Beverage Hill Ave., Pawtucket, RI until the company moved to Florida in 1991.
He is survived by his children; Efren R. Saldua, his wife, Elizabeth, Ella R. Saldua, Estelito R. Saldua, his wife, Joanne, Ester S. Mallari, Estrella R. Saldua, Elmer R. Saldua, his wife, Mary Ann, Edgardo R. Saldua, his wife, Jocelyn, Emma R. Saldua, Elizalde R. Saldua, Elizabeth S. Macul, her husband, Jonathan, and Evan R. Saldua, and his wife, Juliana. Besides his children he left behind 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral for Rafael will be Thursday at 10:00 am from the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Avenue Pawtucket. The calling hours for Rafael will be Wednesday from 5-7 pm in the funeral home.
