June B. Masterson, 70, of Pawtucket died on May 3, 2016 surrounded by her loving family, after gracefully battling breast cancer for five years.
June, proudly of Syrian descent, was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Albert Saba and Rita (Hallal) Saba. She was the wife of David Masterson; they married in 1971. Besides her husband David, June is survived by her devoted daughters, Shana Masterson and her husband Matthew Siedzik of Glocester, and Briana Masterson and her fiancé Nigel Vincent of Pawtuxet Village. June had three sisters, Donna Menard of Coventry and the late Carol Carey and Patricia Saba.
June is a 1963 graduate of William E. Tolman High School. She worked as a legal secretary for Levy Goodman in downtown Providence before dedicating her life to raising her two daughters. June was consistently friendly and spirited, adorably idiosyncratic, and beloved by many. June was happiest at the beach, reading a book, cooking or eating a good meal, enjoying an unoaked Chardonnay, and being surrounded by friends and family. She was looking forward to becoming a Tete (grandmother) in October.
The funeral service for June will be Saturday at 10:00 am in the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway Her calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 pm in the funeral home. Relatives and friends of the family are invited.
