Oh John. I am just so sad. But there are things that I am thankful for as well. I am so thankful that you brought me back into your life these past four years. We had some fun times and some good serious talks. I treasure that. I will always remember the night we danced. I never realized that you danced so well! I so miss your repetitive phone calls if I didn't answer on the first call. I wish I could have one more call from you. You talked to me about some of your regrets in life, and you talked to me about how you did things "your way". The song "My Way" was yours to the end. You died at home the way you wanted to, despite our many efforts to change your mind.
Although you were so ready and waiting to leave this world, I was not ready for you to go. I am happy though that you are now at peace, and I am happy that you are with Mom and Dad. You didn't want me to cry, and we cried together several times, but I am still crying. There is a hole in my heart. I miss you so already.
Everyone talks about your sense of humor and your ability to make people laugh, your amazing stories, your love of animals - especially elephants, your generosity, and your BIG heart. So many people loved you, my little brother, and I don't know if you ever really realized just how much I did.

My condolences to the Allen Family. John had an irresistible personality when we were growing up - funny, warm, dangerous, so intelligent. The memories of our exploits together will never fade. An old friend, John Tavares

To my niece Bernadette,

I am so sorry for your loss sweetheart. Your father was near and dear to my heart, especially growing up in Pawtucket. I visited him at the park and with my Justin many times when he was a child. He special talents will be dearly missed but he is finally at peace. God Bless you and Janet. Let me know if there is anything I can do now for you. He will be perpetually in my prayers for a lasting peace in heaven!

John you were a big brother to me...I can only say that you were always there at the drop of a dime for me without hesitation... I will miss the serious talks and the not so serious talks, and when you had me in stitches with your dry humor...I'm gonna miss running around with you paying bills and going to the packy. You were taken way to soon. There's another hole in my heart that will never be filled. I love you so dearly John...you will be greatly missed in my life and in my heart...❤️🙏God rest your soul my brother🙏 Che' Che'

John, you will be missed by the three of us. Our little one really liked your company and attention you always generous with. I like having someone to eat my cooking and always saying it was good. That was nice. I will miss hanging out on your "stoop" or my "stoop" and talking so in-depth about nothing. It was nice knowing you. I think of you and your stories and I can't help but laugh. Rest in peace. We love ya, the three of us.
