JACKSON, JAMES E. 82, a lifelong resident of Pawtucket passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI.
James was the husband of 60 years to Beatrice (Facteau) Jackson of Pawtucket. He was the son of the late William and Mary (Bourque) Jackson.
He was the father to James Jackson Jr. (Lt. Brown PD & CPD Ret.) and his wife Patricia of Cumberland, Michelle Palmer and her husband Thomas (CPD Ret.) of Cranston, and Linda Jackson and her husband Mark Maguire of McLean VA. He was the brother to Josephine Jackson of Warwick. He was also the brother in law to Charles Hannigan Jr of Pawtucket, and Elaine (Facteau) Beausoleil and her husband Raymond of Warwick.
He was the grandfather to Brian Jackson, Jennifer Jackson, Ryan Palmer and his wife Maryellen, Christopher Palmer, Jason Palmer, Katherine Jackson Maguire, and Elizabeth Jackson Maguire. He was the great grandfather to John Thomas Palmer.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Athlyn “Jean” Hannigan, Mary Jackson, Doris “Dot” Jackson, and Margaret “Peggy” Peltier and her husband Roy.
He proudly served as a Sergeant for the 115th Military Police Company of the Rhode Island Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged on October 29, 1962.
There will be a funeral service for Mr. Jackson on Thursday, September 7th at 10:00 am in the Manning-Heffern Funeral home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. His calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 pm in the funeral home. Burial with full Military honors will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket.
