Edward J. Miller, 101, of Pawtucket died on December 14, 2014.
Mr. Miller was born in Brooklyn, New York the son of the late Edward J. Miller and Anna (Connors) Miller.
He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII. Mr. Miller landed in Normandy on D Day, June 6, 1944, the Longest Day, where he served as a Medic, and was part of the Allies march to freedom in Europe. When he returned home he was a chef at the Fountain Blue Restaurant in Miami Florida and then worked in the textile industry here in Rhode Island.
Ed spent his leisure time painting pictures and portraits of his family. He alos enjoyed sports. Especially the Pawtucket Red Sox.
He was the brother of the late Harold J. Miller, Dorothy Hogan, Russell P. Miller and Thomas Simpson.
Mr. Miller is survived by a brother, William Simpson of Pawtucket. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral for Mr. Miller on Friday at 9:00 am from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 am. His burial will be with full Military Honors in the Rhode Island Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited.
