Claire M. Cornett, 89, of Pawtucket passed into eternal life on August 15, 2017. She was the wife of the late John J. Cornett Sr.
Mrs. Cornett was born in Pawtucket, the daughter of the late Thomas Anderson and Mary (McCaughey) Anderson. She was the sister of John Anderson and the late Thomas Anderson III. She was a long-term employee of Star Market in East Providence.
Claire was a true people person. She loved spending time with her dear friends and family, especially her seven great grandchildren. Claire loved all things Christmas, was a faithful Red Sox fan, an avid puzzle solver, and a lover of the ocean. Her positivity and kindness were cherished by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Joanne Crudden and her husband Timothy, Judith Scherza and her husband Norm, and John Cornett and his wife Evie. She was also the mother of the late Karen Cornett. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tara Sweeney, Rose Boucher, Dean Scherza, Britt Brule, Jacqueline Cornett, and Jonnie Cornett. Claire had seven great grandchildren.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Claire on Monday, August 21st at 11:00 am in St. Teresa’s Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Her calling hours will be Monday morning from 8:30 - 10:30 am in the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited.
