Beatrice Mary (Short) Ferguson

Ferguson, Beatrice M., 74, of Cumberland passed away peacefully at her residence on July 1st surrounded by her family.  She was the loving wife of Gerald C. Ferguson.  Beatrice was born in Pawtucket the daughter of the late Joseph F. and Lillian F. (O’Hare) Short. 

Beatrice was the Office Manager for Fournier Real Estate.  She loved spending time with family and friends, was a Communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and longtime volunteer with Friends of the Book Store in Cumberland. Also enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time at the beach.

Besides her husband, Beatrice is survived by her children, David A. Ferguson and his wife Joyce of Pawtucket, Stephen M. Ferguson and his wife Jeanne of Coventry, Karen E. Buteau and her husband David of Blackstone, MA, Lorri A. Provencal and her husband Pete of Cumberland and her fifteen grandchildren she adored.

The funeral service will be Thursday July 7, 2016 at the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket at 9:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, 301 Broad Street, Cumberland, RI at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Prospect Street, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 6th, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Book Store, 1464 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI 02864 in Beatrice’s memory.
