Laurinda R, Goulet February 28 2010 My sincerest condolences to the family of Mr. Petty. My name is Laurinda Goulet and I am now 45 years old. Mr. Petty was my Art teacher at Gilbert Stuart Middle School from 1975 to 1978. I remember him as a very soft spoken, gentle, kind man with alot of patience. This news saddens my heart. He was always one of my favorite teachers. I will remeber him forever. God Bless him and his family. <3

Jack Smyth February 28 2010 My deepest condolences to Gene's family and friends. We taught many years together at Gilbert Stuart and Gene was a very patient and dedicated teacher. May Gene's professionalism and kind ways be rewarded in heaven.

Michelle Varin March 02 2010 My name is Michelle Varin and I am one of the two librarians at Mount Pleasant HS. Mr. Petty often came in to make copies and use the computer. He especially enjoyed looking at our free book shelf. He probably took the most books out of anyone since we started giving them away. He was a very sweet, and gentle person. He has left a big hole in our hearts at Mount Pleasant. We will miss him. My deepest sympathies to your family.
